Ex IG of police, Hafiz Ringim

Inspector General of Police, Mr Hafiz Ringim, has opted for early retirement.

He was due for retirement in March but there has been under intense pressure to quit following increasing attacks by Boko Haram.

AIG M.D. Abubakar has been named as acting Inspector General of Police in his place.
