KENYA: Nairobi Government Shut Down Chinese Restaurant Over Racism [VIDEO]

The Nairobi government yesterday closed the Chinese restaurant accused of being racist for not admitting Africans after 5pm.
In a statement to newsrooms, City Hall said the owners of the restaurant have no Change of User from Residential to Commercial, which is a requirement to operate a business in Nairobi.

The statement said the restaurant owners have no valid liquor licence and have not complied with the public health requirements for food handling and testing.

                              

"As of now the Nairobi City County has closed down the premise... The county has deployed security officers and the premise will remain closed," said county PR officer Beryl Okundi.

She said the Chinese restaurant owners failure to comply has nothing to do with the friendship and diplomatic relationship Kenya enjoys with China.

"The county will take action against any of its officers found culpable of allowing businesses to operate illegally in Nairobi City County. All business and service providers must ensure that all customers and clients are treated with respect and dignity irrespective of race, colour, sex, tribe and religion," teh statement says.
