Stars Of Nigeria's D'Tigress One Hundred Percent Confident Of Getting Rio Olympics Ticket

Stars of Nigeria's female basketball team D'Tigress have expressed confidence in Nigeria's ability to pick one of the five tickets for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games when the Olympic Qualifying Tournament for women's basketball holds from 13 June to 19 June in Nantes, France.

Nigeria currently ranked 42nd in the FIBA World Women Ranking will face Korea and Belarus in Group C.

D'Tigress stars Ndidi Madu and Helen Ogunjimi claim they will banking on their collective strength to replicate the feat achieved by Nigeria's men at the highly-competitive 2012 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) in Caracas.

"I believe a hundred percent that we will finish in the top five," Madu told FIBA.com.

"Everybody wants to win and everybody wants to go to the Olympics. Our expectations are that we will make it in the top five [at the WOQT]," Ogunjimi added

Joyce Ekworomadu also added: "We need to rely on our strengths and if we do that well, then we will come out in the top five."

Sarah Ogoke believes collective hardwork will see them through.
"For us to secure a ticket to Rio, we'll all need to perform as a collective unit. We'll need to remain cohesive through the ups and downs of each match."
