Algeria Call Up Mahrez, Slimani For Cameroon Game

Algeria have invited Leicester City stars Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani for next month’s World Cup qualifier at home against Cameroon.

Algeria have invited Leicester City stars Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani for next month’s World Cup qualifier at home against Cameroon.


Mahrez and Slimani have combined very well for Premier League champions Leicester since Slimani arrived from Portuguese club Sporting Lisbon in the summer.

The other call-ups from the Premier League are midfielder Adlene Guedioura from Watford and Sofiane Feghouli of West Ham.

The outstanding Yacine Brahimi from FC Porto was also named.

Five of the players are based in Algeria – two goalkeepers and three defenders.

Algeria welcome Cameroon to Blida on October 9, same day group rivals Nigeria play in Zambia.
