‘I Believe We Can Win The 2017 AFCON’ – Gyan
Asamoah Gyan acknowledges that Ghana will face a difficult group at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, but believes they can still win the tournament.
The Black Stars were drawn in Group D alongside Mali, Uganda and Egypt for the tournament in Gabon, and while Gyan admits that’s a tough first round to get through, he has faith in the team’s quality.
The veteran striker and his teammate will be looking to end Ghana’s lengthy drought in the continental competition, which stretches back more than three decades.
“It is a tough group, I don’t think any Ghanaian will say it is an easy Group,” Gyan told Hot FM.
“But as you know we are determined to win the trophy, for us that is our main target. You know it has been a long time since the country won the AFCON title.
“We want to end that by winning the tournament in Gabon, is not going to be easy but I believe we can do it.”
