Former Zambia international Kalusha Bwalya has been inducted into Club America's hall of fame as part of the Mexican club's centennial celebrations.

The CAF Exco member and former Zambia Football Association (FAZ) President, who played for the club between 1994 - 1997, reacted in delight on hearing the news.

“It's a great honor for me," Bwalya told supersport.com. "But in a game of football, one is not alone. I want to thank my teammates and the coaches I worked with for accepting me as I was.

"Coming from Africa, myself and Francois Oman Biyik were always treated so well. A part of me feels Mexican for the love of the people and its supporters. Forever grateful."

Bwalya played 88 games for Club America, scoring 21 goals in his time at the Mexico City-based club.
