Murder-accused paralympian Oscar Pistorius will appeal the conditions attached to his release on bail in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
Pistorius is expected to challenge his bail conditions on the grounds they are unwarranted and unfair, and is seeking to have the conditions scrapped or altered.
He was granted R1m bail on 22 February on condition he did not return to his home in the Silver Woods country estate, where he shot dead his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp, on 14 February, unless accompanied by the estate manager.
He also had to surrender his passport and was ordered not apply for travel documents; must report to the Brooklyn police station at set times on Mondays and Fridays; and cannot use banned substances, drugs or alcohol.
Pistorius's legal team argued, in papers before the court, that he should be allowed to travel, with the permission of the investigating officer, as magistrate Desmond Nair had found during the bail application that he was not a flight risk.
Pistorius sought to have other bail conditions relaxed, including a "blanket order" that he not talk to residents of the Silver Woods complex.
The National Prosecuting Authority has indicated that it intends to oppose the application.
Pistorius's lawyer, Kenny Oldwage said on Wednesday that his client would "probably not" be in court on Thursday.
"It's an appeal. There is no need for him to be there," Oldwage said.
