Despite the move by the Football Association of Zambia to announce Wedson Nyirenda as the new Zambia assistant coach, Gordon Igesund is still waiting to hear from the organisation.
According to the former South African national team coach's agent Mike Makaab, FAZ have communicated that they are busy finalising the appointment of a new coach.
Igesund has been strongly linked with the vacant coaching job in the past few months and FAZ have since announced Wedson Nyirenda as the new assistant coach.
Nyirenda's appointment saw George Lwandamina leaving his position as Chipolopolo coach to focus on Zesco United in the CAF Champions League.
Speaking to this MTNFootball.com, Makaab of ProSport International said they have agreed with FAZ in principle, but they will wait for their feedback.
“We are still waiting for them, the association, as they promised to come back to us once the deal is finalised," said Makaab.
“They are finalising a few details as we speak and they promised to fast track everything.
"Look, we hope to see something positive from them you know. The FIFA 2018 Qualifiers are getting closer, in the first week of October.
“So a coach has to be announced by that time. I received a message a couple of days from them that they are finalising the process.”
