VIDEO: See How South Africans Looted A Shop As They Protest Violently Over Poor Electricity And Water Supply

South Africans took to the streets of Klipheuwel Road in Cape Town to protest the dwindling electricity and water supply that has plagued the country for quite a while now. This protest has eventually turned to a violent one that has led individuals to violate and loot properties and food items from supermarkets.

Protesters burnt tyres, looted shops and threw stones on Klipheuwel Road in Cape Town during violent service delivery protests on Monday. The area is about 60km out of central Cape Town and close to Philadelphia.

According to Mikpunt Neighbourhood Watch chairperson Lourens Steyn, the protest was over the provision of electricity and water. He said the city could apparently not provide these basic services because protesters had settled on private land.

The video below was shared by News24, showing a group of individuals violently looting from a shop.
