Nigerian Man Arrested In South Africa For Sex Slave Charges
A 30-year-old Nigerian man will be appearing in court on Friday after he was arrested for human trafficking earlier this week.
The suspect was nabbed in Vereeniging following the escape of a victim in May this year, Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.
“Two ladies allegedly lured the victim to a house in Rosettenville under the pretence that they were going to meet one of the ladies' boyfriends. Upon arrival the victim was drugged and forced to wear a miniskirt and was used as a sex slave,” said Mulaudzi.
The crime-fighting unit is still pursuing the two women who are believed to be used by the main suspect to recruit women to become prostitutes.
The arrested man will appear before the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Friday.
