Ghana: Father slits son's throat, hangs himself

A 34-year old father ion Ghana reportedly beheaded his 3-year-old son on Tuesday before committing suicide.


According to Ghana Web, Philip Dzakpasu slit his son's throat while he was sleeping and then proceeded to hang himself.

The motive behind the killing was linked to his constant domestic fights with his estranged wife.

The dead bodies were found by the land lady, who discovered the body of the boy covered in blood and the man hanging in the room.

According to a friend, Philip had intended to kill his wife so they would be together in the after life.

A similar incident took place a few months ago when another man butchered his own family with a machete and later proceeded to kill his landlord at  Assin Akrofuom in the Central region.

Following the incident, the man was lynched to death by some young people in the area, Pulse reported.
