Zimbabwean man arrested in London for trying to assault underage girl

A Zimbabwean man has been arrested in Southgate North London after he arranged to meet a 14 year old girl and have sex with her through the internet.


Richard Charles Ganyata, 23, was arrested at Saracens Rugby Club where he plays rugby as he was waiting for the girl.

Ahead of the arrest, Ganyata had been chatting with the girl for days through the internet. According to a video posted on the internet, Ganyata, who has lived in the UK for three years, told the girl that he wanted to touch her boobs and bum before having sex with her.

The video, posted on the internet by ‘Internet Interceptors’, showed Ganyata expressing shock as soon he had realized that the police had been informed of his activities and were also at the appointed place of meeting.

Under interrogation, Ganyata says he blames himself for his actions. He says he is unemployed and has been homeless for some time
