Shola Ameobi has been withdrawn from Nigeria's African Cup of Nations squad, after talks with his coach, Alan Pardew.
Africa Eagle reported only a few days ago how Coach Stephen Keshi dropped Striker Osaze Odewimgie for Shola Ameobi.
We are yet to get any official reaction from Keshi. Keshi still has nine strikers at his disposal in the provisional squad.
Keshi has retained majority of the foreign-based stars who helped secure qualification for South Africa 2013.
Defender and captain Joseph Yobo is set to play in his sixth consecutive Nations Cup finals.
Nigeria begin their Nations Cup campaign against Burkina Faso on 21 January and then face Zambia and Ethiopia in Group C.
