Boko Haram And Ansaru Cannot Divide Nigeria, President Jonathan Declares

President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday assured Nigerians that despite the spate of terror attacks in the country, his administration would not allow it to divide the country.
Speaking during the Easter Sunday service at Our Saviour's Churchin Lagos, Jonathan said the country would remain united and stronger, saying his government was committed to the fight against terrorism.

The president also assured that power outages experienced in the country now would soon be a thing of the past beginning from 2014 as his administration was making efforts to reverse the situation. He said the process of privatization of the power sector would soon be completed to ensure total reform of the sector in order to guarantee stable power supply.

The president said the country would only witness rapid progress and development when the people remain united, focused and determined.

He also observed that the resultant effects of the spate of terrorist attacks in the country could have been more devastating but for the fervent prayers of Nigerians for peace and stability.

Jonathan said the zeal on praying for the country amongst Christians should not be compromised; noting that Christ came to the world at a critical time of human existence yet changed the world by preaching peace, unity and love which must be imbibed by Christians continuously in honour of Christ Jesus.

Earlier in his sermon, the Vicar, Igein Isemede, reflected on the death and resurrection of Christ, stating that the facts were there for all to see on the biblical compilation regarding the time and life of Jesus Christ.

He urged Christians to purge their hearts of any wrong doing as the death and resurrection of their saviour had atoned for them of their sins and afflictions.
