Prominent Nigerian Radio Broadcaster Chaz B Is Dead: What You Don't Know About Him

A prominent Nigerian radio broadcaster, Charles Bruce Chukwuma, also known as "Chaz B" is dead.  

Mr. Chukwuma was a popular presenter of a radio show "Sharing Life Issues" which aired on Inspiration FM Radio before moving Rhythm FM.

A prominent Nigerian radio broadcaster, Charles Bruce Chukwuma, also known as "Chaz B" is dead.  Mr. Chukwuma was a popular presenter of a radio show "Sharing Life Issues" which aired on Inspiration FM Radio before moving Rhythm FM.   

Mr. Chukwuma abruptly signed off on air during his last presentation telling listeners his colleague will finish the show. Friends and family said he died yesterday of complications arising from kidney failure.

 Mr. Chukwuma had a kidney transplant in 2012 from an organ donated by his wife.


The death of popular OAP, Charles Bruce, aka Chaz B came to the industry as a rude shock, especially for the fact that the late Rhythm FM presenter has been such an inspiration over the years to his listeners.

With his programme, 'Sharing Life Issues' with Chaz B on Rhythm FM, he has touched thousands of lives, with a large number of listeners calling in to acknowlege him for a job well done.

Chaz B who died Saturday morning, November 22nd from kidney failure which he'd been battling for a while, has had near death experiences from same disease, a testimony which he shared back in October 2012 .

Educated at the North Tech Education Centre, West Palm Beach, Florida in the United States, Charles Bruce is a Nigerian from Bayelsa State.

His fluency in both verbal and written French made him versatile. He has done everything from marketing to franchising fast food joints. An ex-Kings College, Lagos, student, he also served as general manager of the Abuja-based radio station, Hot F.M.

With a deep, smooth and jazzy voice, Bruce brings an impressive array of radio expertise to Inspiration F.M, after which he left for Beat FM in 2013 amidst controversy that he was very displeased with the way the management ran the radio station and was practically fed up.

Chaz B was in his mid-50s and was married with kids when tragedy struck.
