Bomb Truck Kills 1 Egyptian Policemen, Injures 29
A bomb struck a bus carrying Egyptian policemen Monday, killing one and wounding 29, police said, the latest attack against security forces who are being targeted by Islamic State group jihadists.
The attack occurred in the Nile Delta province of Baheira, 260km north of Cairo, while the policemen were travelling to work in a civilian bus.
"One policeman was killed and 29 others were wounded, including two seriously," Adel Khalifa, a health ministry official from Baheira told AFP.
Jihadists from Egypt's ISIS affiliate have launched regular attacks against security forces since the army's ouster of president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
Most of their attacks are in the Sinai Peninsula, but deadly bombings have also been carried out in other cities including Cairo.
Jihadists say their attacks are in retaliation for a police crackdown targeting Morsi supporters that has left hundreds dead and thousands jailed.
