The tussle for the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) assumed a new dimension on Friday, as the police arrested Chris Giwa at the Glass House in Abuja after attempted to take over the NFF headquarters.
Accompanied by all his board members, with the exception of Obinna Ogba, Giwa stormed the Zone 7 premises of the NFF secretariat around 4pm, saying he had come to take over the leadership of the football body, following a court judgement from the Federal High Court Jos on the general secretary of the federation.
He spent about 30 minutes in the building and was granting interviews to media as well as trying to take charge of administrative duties before a detachment of policemen asked him to leave.
But the police prevented him from gaining access to the main building, before whisking him away to Wuse zone 3 police station in the federal capital territory.
