Canada to face Morocco and Mauritania in october

Canada will take on Morocco and Mauritania in two friendly matches during the upcoming FIFA international week in two weeks time.

Canada will take on Morocco and Mauritania in two friendly matches during the upcoming FIFA international week in two weeks time.


This was announced by the Canadan Soccer Association on Monday. The Association also stated that the two matches will be played in Morocco.

Newly appointed Canada interim head coach Michael Findlay will be in charge of the team during the two international matches.

Nicknamed the Canucks, Canada are scheduled to take on Mauritania in the first encounter in Marrakesh on Friday, 7 October.

Morocco's Atlas Lions will then lock horns with the Canucks in the same city on Tuesday, 11 October.

The Atlas Lions are expected to use the encounter as preparation for the final round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup (CAF) qualifying.

Herve Renard's men will take on Gabon in their first Group C game at the Stade de Franceville in Franceville on Saturday, 8 October.
